Junior Dragonfly Community Project

There are 2 main goals for Junior Dragonfly Community Project(JDCP). They are 1) To increase the number of players and participation in schools and community and 2) To enhance the knowledge and skills of players from beginner to competitive level.

JDCP is a combination of two previous development programs , Pop Up Ping Pong school project and Dragonfly Junior Club Development. Not only we increase participation in schools and provide training at a junior club level. JDCP has expand this to cater for community of all age, for example, day club senior. And also develop players from junior club level into competitive level.

Junior Dragonfly originally started off as a junior development programme of the North Shore Table Tennis Association. This grass-root level programme has grown over the years and produce players into Northern regional and National level.

This year Junior Dragonfly has helped 7 players into National Development structure. The highlight includes Yelena as the no1 U10 rating (Dec 2021) and current Auckland zone Primary champion for the last 2 years. Another Junior Dragonfly member Angel Han have made into the U13 National squad as one of the youngest player while still in the U9 age category. Angel and Yelena together won the Northern region U15 girls team earlier this year.
